What are the biggest mistakes people make when visiting Argentina?

-Leaving their cell phones out in public places and/or walking around using their iPhone, which are hot theft items.

-Not using a kiss on the cheek as a greeting.

-Not personally greeting every person when arriving to a social event.

-Showing up early or on time to an informal social event (you should generally show up 15–30min after the noted start time)

-Referring to the Malvina's as the Falklands.

-Expecting things to run efficiently and smoothly as it does in places like the US and Europe. Then getting angry or agitated when it doesn't.

-Not visiting places outside of Buenos Aires. Mendoza, Patagonia, Salta and Iguazu are all remarkable places.

-Exchanging money on Florida street. Beware of pick pocketers and fake bills.

-Not getting to know the locals. They're some of the most wonderful people in the world.

-Bringing new electronics in boxes through the airport. Take them out, make them look used or you might get fined.

-Not trying the steak, wine or ice cream.

-Doing business without understanding the local culture. Relationship building is something that takes time and is necessary for any business success in Argentina.

Argentina is a lovely place to visit (and live!)

It has the best characteristics of a European city, with the flare of Latin American culture. Buy your ticket and go!
